in 2011, i used to frequent this neopets website to look at guides, info about dailies and such. there was a chatroom on the site and on one of the chatters' profile was a song playing in the background that i fell in love with (it was higurashi's dear you). i asked them about it, they told me to watch higurashi and that's how i got into anime.
in this notebook i will simply list my favorites of the types of media i consume the most and talk a little about them, for archiving purposes!

one piece
one piece is just special, i have watched everything three times and cried a whole lot every single time. i remember walking home from school as quickly as possible and watching over 20 episodes a day because the story is so fun and compelling, and so are the characters.


higurashi no naku koro ni
i simply love the paranoia and graphic violence, contrasting with the seemingly peaceful friendly rural setting. meakashi-hen is my favorite arc and every time i hear a cicada i automatically think of higurashi.
osomatsu-san
it sums up my sense of humor, it's really unique and lowkey relatable. got so attached and had so much fun i had to go watch the stage play and 86 episodes of osomatsu-kun dubbed in spanish on youtube. also ichimatsu.

evangelion: 3.0 you can (not) redo
evangelion is such a sad and hopeless story and the portrayal of shinji's struggles resonate deeply with me. the dreamlike psychological sequences are a major reason why i like this series so much.
the third movie is my favorite installment of the series and i believe shinji deserves kindness, love, and understanding. i also believe in kawoshin #doomedyaoi

mob psycho 100
one is so funny and creative. the webcomic made its way into my heart before the series was animated and i really appreciate how beautiful and true to the original art style they made the anime, so wholesome and unique i love mp100.

kuroko no basuke
knb made me look at sports differently and i always get nostalgic remembering how much fun i had reading and watching it, writing fanfiction of these characters and saving ungodly amounts of fanart on a secret gallery app on my phone.


hunter x hunter
i'm not even exaggerating when i say that, to me, hunter x hunter is the perfect example of good story, character growth and power progression. the pacing is perfect and the characters are well written. i often find myself comparing other adventure/action stories to hxh when something bothers me, because i just know togashi did it the right way.

junji ito stories
i love the way junji ito can make the most random things so disgusting and upsetting. my favorite ones are glyceride, long dream and of course the series about his cats yon & mu.

the elder scrolls V: skyrim
there is something about skyrim that just gets me so immersed and invested every time i play. the atmosphere and environment feel so comforting to me after playing it so much and it gives me just what i need from an rpg. despite all its flaws and limitations it's my favorite.

baldur's gate 3
i will never regret the amount of hours i’ve spent trying to explore so much of what this game allows you to do, and also romancing astarion in every single playthrough. it's beautifully done, and you can really see the immense care and detail that went into every single aspect of this game.

sweetest thing ever, i just love hanging out with cute animals and having them sing happy birthday to me, exchanging letters and gifts, fishing and catching bugs, decorating the island and getting cute furniture.
this game was not only the reason why i got a 3ds in the first place but it also got me glued to it for quite some time. bob is my favorite villager (purely coincidental how similar he is to ichimatsu)
yakuza
specifically yakuza 0 and kiwami 1. majima everywhere made this franchise a favorite for me as a goro majima appreciator. every sidequest is funny too so there's that.

sonic frontiers
i really really wish this game was longer. it was so fun exploring in high speed and still being able to do levels, kocos are cute, bosses were creepy, ost was cool too and roger's voice acting is my favorite.
